Meet Shawn Luther

As a devoted and long-time resident of Dayton, I want to express my deep affection and appreciation for our wonderful city. My family and I have strong ties to the community. My two youngest daughters attended Dayton Elementary, where my wife, Tara, began her career in education. Today, my daughters are flourishing at Champlin Park High School and Jackson Middle School, where my wife is now a dedicated special education teacher.

With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, I am proud to own and operate several companies, including Excel Roofing, Luther Construction Services, and Extreme Floor Epoxy. Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of working on numerous homes in Dayton, collaborating with incredible customers who share my passion for our city.

Beyond my business ventures, I am an active member of our community. I currently serve as Vice President of the Economic Development Authority (EDA) and am the co-founder of the Dayton Community Car Show. I also support various local initiatives, such as the "Old Town Flowerpots Program," Dayton Heritage Days, and other community events. In 2021, I was honored to be selected as the Grand Marshal of the Heritage Days Parade.

I am committed to continuing my volunteer work and supporting our great city whenever possible. My ultimate goal is to see Dayton grow and become an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I am eager to explore ways to contribute to our community's growth and development and look forward to discussing my ideas with you.

While I don't claim to be a political expert or have extensive knowledge of government operations, I am committed to dedicating my time and efforts to understanding how it works and creating a better future for our city.

My goal is to ensure that Dayton remains a place where people are proud to live, work, and raise their families. I believe that by working together, we can create a vibrant and thriving community that we can all be proud of.
